Right after you create an application, a default domain name that ends in bunnyroute.com will be generated and assigned to the application. You can add a new domain name by performing these actions:
Go to your application page either by going to the Applications section (top-right side underneath the organization name) or from the Applications tab on the virtual machine page the application is installed on.
On the Domains tab select Add new. You will be able to choose between adding a new domain (when you want a separate domain file for your application) or an alias (another name for the same site).
Depending on whether your domain name is already pointing at the domain name you can click on:
- Connect if it is already pointing
- Do it later if you plan to do this at a later stage
WordPress has the name configured in the WordPress admin settings. Please note that adding a new domain name will not change the WordPress site name. Please follow this article to understand how to change the site name.
The purpose of the Connect action is to facilitate the generation of Let's Encrypt certificates. If your domain is not "Connected" then you will not be able to generate Let's Encrypt certificates. Should you decide to use CloudFlare then you will not need to generate Let's Encrypt certificates since CloudFlare provides you with their own valid certificate.
